Invisalign Braces

Teeth that are crowded or too widely spaced can create unhealthy conditions, including swollen gums, redness and pocketing, all of which are signs of periodontal disease. As Invisalign invisibly straightens your teeth, it can also do great things for the health of your mouth.

Healthier Gums

Clinical studies have shown that gum health may improve with the use of Invisalign during orthodontic treatment¹. Properly aligned teeth can help gums “fit” tighter around each tooth², which may lead to better periodontal health. Unlike braces, with Invisalign, you can brush and floss normally, which can help prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease.

Easier Cleanings

Unlike traditional orthodontics or braces, Invisalign has no metal bands or wires to trap food and plaque. Maintaining a good oral hygiene program will also reduce chances of plaque buildup, tooth decay and periodontal disease.

Improved Chewing and Speech

For some people, incorrectly positioned teeth and jaws can exacerbate speech difficulties and chewing problems. Correcting your bite by straightening your teeth can help improve both.

Lower Risk of Trauma and Abnormal Wear

Properly aligned teeth can be less stressful on supporting bone and jaw joints.

Are Clear Braces for you?

Invisalign is the brand for clear braces.  This can be a great options for both teens and adults.  Invisalign can help fix minor alignment issues up to extensive adjustments.  Patients with a variety of problems such as over bites, under bites, and even cross bites can check with Dr. Abenaim to see if they can be candidates for clear braces.

Different from metal braces, Invisalign is set of clear plastic aligners that can be removed when you need to brush your teeth or participate in sports.  The plastic aligners also help to minimize irritations from traditional braces.  Most people with braces remember scraped cheeks and using wax to cover the metal wires. Now, we can avoid all those irritations.

Clear braces are great options for individuals that worry about their appearance during meetings or other public appearances. The aligners are designed to be worn all day, and are nearly invisible.

Step 1: Make an appointment with Dr. Abenaim

During the initial visit, your orthodontist or dentist will evaluate, assess and discuss the course of treatment with you. Your doctor will take bite impressions of your teeth and will send these to Invisalign for processing.

Step 2: Invisalign® makes your aligners

Invisalign® uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to transform your bite impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners.

Step 3: You receive your clear aligners in a few weeks.

During your next visit to your orthodontist or dentist, you will receive your first set of clear aligners. Your doctor will most likely give you a few additional sets to wear before your next visit.

Step 4: You wear your aligners.

You’ll wear each set of clear aligners day and night for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Patients, on average, complete treatment in approximately a year. You’ll visit your orthodontist or dentist at regular intervals to check your progress.

Step 5: You’ve finished treatment!

Congratulations! When you’re finished wearing each clear aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and you will have straighter teeth and the beautiful smile you deserve.
